We got to do something !!

Once again, our country is in the climax of the political crisis. There had been a complete fears, curiosity and worries on whether the cease fire will last longer. Our hopes were shattered many times. We were betrayed but we lived with hard times. And now, the scenario is a bit different. But still, we still have that kind of worries, little frustration, fury and most importantly a spark of hope with us. We have a hope to see a fresh Nepal with complete revival heading towards the speedy development.

Having talked to the large number people of different walks of life, I have met 3 different groups of people putting their views on current political scenario. The view is about the king, political parties and the Maoists. The debate is always more focused on Maoists, their roles and people’s judgment on them. A group of people say, Maoists are idealistic but not rational and it is never possible for them to win aspiration and support of the people. As soon as they give up arm, people will attack them, they have some sort of revenge when they killed innocence people before. No body will vote them and they will never win. Neither Maoists supremo Prachanda nor any other even top level leader of maiost has any security or guarantee of life. The second group of people says, Maoists even though have killed many people in the past, they played the most crucial roles during this jan andolan and the credit goes to them for educating people politically and making large number of people aware of the political crisis of  the country. But definitely they are going to have a tough time in the future and in fact the Maoists should not be given any chance to lead the country. The third group of people says, the credit for success goes to Maoists, they have the right agenda and we should support and vote. These people are in fact inspired by their success in their war for a cause. These people in reality are not the Maoists workers but the supporter of Maoists.
A lecturer in a reputed college of Kathmandu seems to be completely weird on Maoists. He said the Maoists should never be brought into political mainstream and the war should go on till they are vanished. I was stunned in fact. The people who have lost their own loved ones and family members during 10 years of insurgency want peace, they want leaders to dialogue with Maoists and bring them into political mainstream and the most debated topics might be about the same for years and it’s completely ridiculous and a kind of funny joke to talk about any more war in the country bypassing the bright days ahead.
The most problematic debate of now day is about arms of the Maoists. Hari Sharma, a English lecturer in lord Buddha education foundation opines, in 2003 B.S, had Nepali congress not lifted the arms with them, Nepalese would not see democracy on 2007 B.S.
We youth lack vision on politics. We see what is seen surfacially. Be it a bitter truth, the Maoists have played great roles during the jana andolan and in fact have safe guarded the thousands of protestors. When there were protests, curfew was imposed and protests were suppressed many times. At the same times, people are completely against to certain actions of the Maoists such as persuasive donations and more. But it is us to think that there are 40, 000 Maoists militia to feed. Why don’t we speed out the talk process, go for arm management and then announce the republic? If Maoists will continue with such activities people will not leave them at any cost. There is a fear that the Maoists will conceal military hardware and a group of Maoists will still be in the jungle with arms and so on. But how much will they hide? Will we leave them?
To think neutrally after the long history of Nepal, the birth of any armed forces like Maoists was inevitable for Nepal but the way of war could be different. If Nepali congress was armed once but no innocent people were killed. There could have been lots of good things Maoists could do but they didn’t. They initiated well but become gratuitously cruel and tortured innocent people and many families. They have got a good chance to show that they can really do well for the people and if they lose this, then their so called 10 years of peoples war will have no meaning and Maoists 10 years of history will be written as BLACK YEARS. They took hundreds of school children to the street on ashoj 2, which was a kind of ridiculous now. But in another side of the coin, the school children now should be educated and taught about the political happenings and their roles at present and future. Maoists in fact can craft political awareness but taking out the children to the street is really doesn’t give a good message. Why don’t even we youth run a political campaign to the school children? Isn’t it necessary? Have we ever asked them what they want or what they think of king or politicians or Maoists?  The revolution could be peaceful and it should run in our blood not in oral cavity with futile words.

Now, there are handfuls of Member of Parliament (MPs), who are denying passing the legal provision to bring army under the government of Nepal and change certain legal autonomy given to them. They so called elected by the people are going against our spirit and it is the youth of the country to see political happenings to see closely and act accordingly and time has come to start jan andolan-3 and filter out those so called politicians completely out of their reach to the government to have very fast republican set up here.
